In 2009, I watched a gripping and harrowing documentary called 'The Cove' which was about the slaughter of dolphins in Japan. There was raw footage of the animals being brutally killed and it did not sit well with me, so much I got very emotional and a vivid scene brewed in my imagination of a fisherman being drowned. This gave fuel and life to the idea of From the Deep. If you check out the documentary, please watch with discretion. It's quite heavy.

After years of life, marine research and creativity, FTD was first signed with independent publishing house, Burton Mayers Books. It was released into the world of fiction in 2022.
